CPR
This CPR course is conducted in affiliation with the American Heart Association, which has updated the guidelines for performance of Basic Life Support. This is the course required by health care facilities in order to acquire and maintain employment. It is designed for health care providers that have never taken PR before or have expired Health care Provider card. We are proud to be offering updated information on CPR that came out of the latest international conference. We cover all aspects of adult, child and infant resuscitation using didactic, practical and return demonstration methods of training.

Prevention Of Medical Errors for RN's & LPN's
A laboratory result is misread, a confused patient falls out of bed, a patient is inadvertently given the wrong medication. Medical error like these result in preventable injury for one out of every 25 hospitalized patients. We as health care professionals need to recognize the cause of these errors and adopt policies that will reduce this occurrence. This course meets the mandate of the Florida State legislature, requiring training on prevention of medical errors and follows the curriculum guidelines of the Florida State Board of Nursing for issuance of 2 hours need for license renewal.

Home Health Aide
This program focuses on assisting patients in their home, or other facility in which the patient lives. Students will learn how to assist patient with activities of daily living and run errands when necessary, as mandated by the agency for health care administration.
 
Medical Assistant
This 1 year (3 semester) program prepares individuals to provide allied health services in ambulatory out-patient facilities, including medical offices and clinics. Medical Assistants participate in Diagnostic, Clinical, and Administrative functions. Diagnostic functions include drawing blood, performing basic laboratory tests, and taking EKG's and X-Rays. Clinical functions include obtaining vital signs, preparing patients for and assisting with examinations and procedures, administering medications and performing treatments. Administrative functions include serving as receptionists, scheduling appointments and diagnostic procedures, managing records, completing insurance coding, and providing for billing and collecting. Medical Assistants use computer technology to manage records, billing and other aspects of a medical office or clinic. Students participate in an internship each semester to gain experience in every aspect of the Medical Assistant's practice.
 
Mental Health Technician
We will train individuals necessary to be able to work with mentally impaired patients. It will prepare students to work in the mental health facilities. You will learn to communicate and use interpersonal skills effectively. The student will be able to demonstrate legal and ethic responsibilities. Learn about the Health Care Delivery System and Health Occupations. A 600-hour program designed to ensure techniques and clinical skills necessary to prepare these students for job placement.
 
Nursing Assistant
This program is designed to teach student hands-on care to residents of a facility. How to meet the residents physical and psychosocial needs, and to provide a safe environment for the resident, while fulfilling responsibilities to the employer.
 
Pharmacy Technician
Pharmacy technicians work under the supervision of licensed pharmacists to perform technical and clerical duties in the systematic operation of the pharmacy. Their duties may include, but are not limited to:
- compounding (to measure, weigh, and mix) medicinal drugs
- preparing and labeling medicines
- filling bottles and vials with the correct quantity of medicine
- issuing medicines to the customers
- maintaining inventory
- keeping patients' medication profiles on specified records, forms, or computerized systems

Pharmacy technicians must be aware of the necessity for a specific technique, cleanliness, orderliness, and accuracy in the work areas. They also should be alert, observant, attentive to details, and able to follow written and oral instructions.

 
Patient Care Technician
This program provides students with a broad foundation of basic medical knowledge and skills. Emphasis is placed on developing multifaceted skills patient care competencies applicable to a variety of medical settings. Students receive training in such health care topics as: Patient care techniques, planning, management, finance, technical and production skills underlying principles of medical technology, labor issues and health, safety and environmental issues. A combination of Home Health Aide, Nursing Assistant and Medical Assistant program. The program provides a broad based knowledge of patient care skill outside the doctors office and extend into other facilities. It also allows students to be more Interactive with clients.
 
Phlebotomy Technician
Phlebotomists are trained to draw blood samples from people of all ages by venipuncture, skin puncture, or arterial collection as needed for medical tests and blood donations. In practice of phlebotomy, safety precautions must be taken or prevent the transmission of infectious diseases. Phlebotomists are instructed to adhere to strict policies and procedures accurately and efficiently while treating the patient with care.
 
Security Guard Training
In the security industry it is time for dynamic change. The demands placed on security officers requires ever increasing professional training. While they are not sworn police officers, each security guard receives orientation training in areas such as building security, key control, procedures related to arrests by officers, and criminal and patrol procedures. Guards also train in specialty areas including medical emergencies and hazardous waste, and assist police officers in all of these areas. Learn how to handle emergencies while on the job as a security guard and how to handle yourself as a guard.
