RANGE OF APPLICATION
The sole purpose of Optimalife is to introduce BMS® for applications in the areas for which it was originally invented -- sports-fitness, training, and cosmetics. However, in the future, there will probably be a wider range of therapeutic applications for BMS®. In Europe, especially in Germany, extraordinarily successful results have been documented in various fields. German television reported the astonishing results of the application of BMS® to conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis and Scleroderma. (Note, that BMS® is not a treatment for Multiple Sclerosis.) A physician, who suffers from Multiple Sclerosis, reported in a television special that BMS® is a relatively risk-free training method that can alleviate the symptoms and better the quality of life. This physician achieved an improved use of his hands which enabled him to perform injections and he also regained movement of his legs.

THE THEORY OF THE PHENOMENON OF PAIN RELIEF
There is a hypothesis about pain sensation -- that it is a biological signal of disorder in the body. Certainly, the sensation of pain is a limiting factor to physiotherapeutic movement. The most common theory for how pain is experienced holds that it originates in the cell. Through skin breaks or tissue defects, substances such as Seratonin, Calcium Chloride and Histamine, reach the interstacium (space between the cells) and irritate pain receptors.

Pain relief could be effected with an exchange of cellular and intercellular liquids to lower the concentration of irritating substances in the pain centers. The metabolism-raising effect of BMS® resulting in such an exchange of cellular and intercellular liquids, seems to be a positive, contributing factor to pain relief.

The effect of BMS® upon the mechano-receptors, constitutes a second means of reducing pain. In this manner, an effective "distraction stimulus" plus a blood pumping effect produces lasting pain relief.

THE DEVELOPMENT OF MOBILITY
Mobility of the joints is an important precondition to success in sports and to enjoyment of the activities of every day life. In the areas of injury prevention, preparation for sports performances, and rehabilitation, a BMS® session of only two minutes will effect improvement in:

· stretching
· blood circulation
· better "sliding effect" between the tissues
· feeling of wellbeing

Good results have been shown in Germany with BMS training of contracted joints caused by long immobilization or postoperative inactivity.

It is suggested that persons with the following conditions not use BMS® without first consulting their physician:
Acute Infectious Disease
Skin Disease (rash, infection, etc.)
Tumors (especially malignant)
Abscesses
Pregnancy (light massage/bodywork techniques only)
Intoxication
Extreme Fatigue
Psychosis
Thrombophlebitis
Arterial Embolism
Neurologic Deficit
Loss of "pain response" from nerve compression
Laminectomy of 2-3 vertebrae
Damage to corticosponal tract
Diabetes (consult with physician)
Cerebellar damage
Loss of muscle tissue (surgically replaced with connective tissue)
