Academy of Science and Museum of Natural Sciences. The structure's
theme...a reminder of the past...is intensified by the omnipresent 1950
vintage Chevrolet. |

Galería, This ancient Spanish gallery, both elegant and stately,
is part of UNESCO's restoration of some of the grand mansions of Old Havana.
The second balcony, opening to the center courtyard, not only provided
circulation between rooms but was a social area for the ladies of the
manor to enjoy the shade, fresh air, and Cuban sky. |

Paseo Del Prado
|
Paseo del Prado, The sun glistens and two little girls dance between
lines of their friends on the Paseo del Padro. Havana's most glorious
pedestrian promenade. On either side it is defined by the 19th century
facades and shaded by a beautiful canopy of trees. |

Hotel Nacional
|
Hotel Nacional, Opened in 1930, this majestic hotel symbolizes Havana's
traditional hospitality. Built in a tropical yet Spanish tradition, it is
punctuated by touches of Art deco ornamentation. The high ceiling veranda
with its comfortable wicker chairs overlooks the Malecon and Caribbean Sea.

National Capitol

National Capitol, The Capitolio, opened in 1929, was a copy of the
U.S. Capitol and the supreme symbol of the free Republic of Cuba. Its
interior spaces, in the style of the French Ecole d' Beaux Arts, were
palatial befitting a nation of great wealth with a strong taste for
European traditions. |

The Stogie

The Stogie, This Habanera, with smile and cigar, in a way symbolizes
the stoic and resilient character of those living today in the decaying
ruins of what was once the beautiful and fun-loving capital of the world.
